12 Oct Indie Publishing of Audio books
Creating an audio version of your prose can bring your words to life and open up a whole new audience. If you want to learn how to make a professional recording, come and talk to Paul K Joyce. His Audio books session on Saturday 6th November will take you through the recording process from start to finish.
As a composer and performer, Paul K Joyce has spent many years inside recording studios and understands how to best capture and process sound. As a writer, he understands the power of the written word. Bring these two disciplines together and what do you get? An audio book! Paul will explain how, with very basic equipment, you can create your own audio book or book trailer. All aspects of spoken-word recording will be discussed.
Paul has spent much of his career composing music for many successful productions such as The Worst Witch, Noddy, Fimbles and The Snow Queen. Paul received an Ivor Novello award for his theme to the animated series, Bob the Builder. His orchestral work, Celestial, featuring actor Michael Sheen, was released in 2019.
Paul is also a writer. An ardent fan of sci-fi and dystopian fiction, Paul’s writing has been inspired by (among others): Brian Aldiss, Margaret Atwood, John Steinbeck and Ursula K. Le Guin. He self-published his debut novel: The Will Of The People, in 2020 and his short story, Behind The Eyes, was published in the anthology Black Lives in 2021.
